This pathway is for highly skilled professionals earning at least AUD 135,000 per year. While it covers advanced roles, trades workers, drivers, laborers, and machinery operators are not eligible.

Aimed at occupations on Australia’s Core Skills Occupation List, which highlights roles facing labor shortages, this pathway sets the minimum earnings at the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT).

Currently under development, this pathway will apply to workers in essential areas earning below AUD 70,000, ensuring that critical roles across sectors are filled.
Each of these pathways will allow visa holders a four-year stay in Australia, with applications processed in a targeted 21-day timeframe. Additionally, visa holders will now have up to 180 days to find a new employer if they leave their current job, a significant extension from the existing 60-day period.
