How to join your spouse visa after ban

Canada on the 19th of March 2024 banned the spouse visa for courses except for master’s and doctoral degrees. This Big change has made everyone feel low because it would be difficult for them to meet their spouse living abroad. But not anymore, we will discuss three different ways through which you can go to Canada and meet your spouse.

Getting a Master’s Degree:

Even if you have got your offer letter, but haven’t lodged your file yet, you can reconsider choosing the master’s degree because the spouse visa is open for a master’s degree. Also, if you are already studying bachelors degree in Canada then extend your studies with a master’s. This will not only help your qualifications but also increase your chances of joining your spouse.

The Work Permit Route:

Another way to join your spouse is to wait until your spouse’s study has been completed and he/she will be on a work permit. If he/she has got a work permit then it would be easy for you to join your spouse there. Also, if your spouse’s study is for one year, try extending it because, with one year of study, you will be eligible for only 1 year of work permit, extending your study to 2 years will make you eligible for 3 years of work permit.

Visitor Visa

The other good option for joining your spouse in Canada is the Visitor Visa. Nowadays, Visitor visas have a higher approval rate and this increases the chances for you to go to Canada. Once, you reach there, you might be able to get a work permit too. By doing a job or through LMIA, you can convert your visitor visa to a Work permit easily.

To conclude, Don’t let the spouse visa ban bring you down. You still have options! Whether it’s pursuing a master’s degree, looking into work permits, or considering a visitor visa, there’s a way to be with your spouse in Canada. Remember, where there’s a will, there’s a way!
