On April 15, 2024, Canada launched a New Canada Work Permit Innovation Stream Pilot Program, a initiative that allows skilled workers to obtain a two-year work permit without the need for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This pilot program is part of Canada’s effort to attract global talent and streamline the immigration process.
Key Details
Program Duration: The program will run for two years, and applications can be submitted until March 22, 2026.
Associated Project: This pilot program is linked to the Global Hyper Growth Project, which involves eight selected companies that plays a major role to Canada’s economy and innovation sectors.
Job Offer Requirements: To be eligible, applicants must secure a job offer from one of these eight companies. The job can be at any skill level within the NOC 0123 tier, making the program accessible to a wide range of professionals.
Application Process: Both individuals currently residing in Canada and those outside the country can apply. The processing fee for the application is 155 Canadian dollars.
Objective: The primary aim of this program is to remove the delays and complexities associated with the LMIA process, thereby attracting the best global talent to Canada’s workforce.
